Most people are entirely oblivious to the fact it was originally written with a werewolf as the antagonist, to match with the reality. Or that there was no third party involved in her rescue from the wolf. She was a smart, independent girl who outwitted the big bad wolf all on her own.    But who could write such a story without being present to see it? The wolf wasn't around to tell his side, and the girl was illiterate. There was another in the woods that night, one who wrote the story down as he saw it and told it to his children, and his children's children, and so on down the years. The story changed over many centuries as it played out again and again; always a girl, always a werewolf, always a confrontation.    The storytellers finally got involved in the situation, wanting to protect the human involved. Little did anyone know that they were werewolves themselves, born into a life that meant they had to hide from everyone. It didn't take long for the stories to change and include a savior, someone who rescued the girl from the big bad wolf. The nature of the savior was always a protector and man of the woods, someone who stayed away from the rest of society. It's time for the story to repeat, but the players have yet to be decided.
